Recently, I worked with a woman in her 70s. She came to me complaining of chronic knee pain. As she had consulted several practitioners regarding this condition, she, naturally approached our potential work together with plenty of healthy skepticism. She asked lots of great questions. This is always a good sign. It showed that she was really willing to invest in her success. She was a smart cookie!

To make a longer story a bit less long, she committed to the 11-session series of SOMA Bodywork. By the fourth or fifth session her knee pain was in the background. She marveled at that. As the series progressed, she shared stories of her husband commenting on her posture, of having to slow down when walking with her friends so they could keep up. By late in the series her knee discomfort was gone. She was quite pleased, since she had reached a place of wondering if she would have to just deal with her pain for the rest of her life.

About 6 months after her initial series, she came back for a “tune up”. A couple months prior the knee pain had started to come back. Circumstances in her life were such that she hadn’t been as able to take care of herself as well. She knew she needed to come and see me, but, well, time passed. Then, she had a mishap and fell with all of her weight on the very knee. Now she had really done it, she thought. She came to see me, wondering if I could truly do something for her. She got off the table at the end of the session and was pain-free. The glee in her eyes was priceless.

This is why I keep doing this! SOMA Bodywork works, especially when you are truly motivated to be a healthy, engaged, active person.

Enjoy this great summer weather!

This is how I try to approach every moment of every session with you. Whether practicing SOMA Bodywork or massage therapy, I notice consistently that the more clear I am with my touch, the more effectively you take it in and the more efficiently your body changes in response.

So…as I launch this website and this blog, I do so with excitement and desire to inspire, to educate, to entertain, and to have some FUN! Thanks for checking it out. I hope you will come back often.
